**Is Meghan Markle Planning Her First Trip to The UK in Almost Four Years?**

It's been almost four years since Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, set foot in England. The last time she visited was for Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, but now there are rumors that she might be planning a return trip to her homeland with her husband, Prince Harry.

Prince Harry is scheduled to travel to Birmingham on July 10 to launch the countdown to the Birmingham 2027 Invictus Games. This sporting competition, created by Prince Harry in 2014 for war veterans and wounded soldiers, has become a significant event, and the Sussexes have made it a habit to kick off the festivities together a year before each edition.

However, Meghan Markle's return to England is not without its challenges. Her husband's long-running battle over his security continues, with the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) expected to issue a ruling soon. The decision will determine whether Harry will be granted publicly funded police protection or have to rely on his own private security.

Prince Harry has been vocal about his concerns regarding his family's safety, telling a court in December 2023 that he cannot put his wife and children in danger by bringing them to the UK without adequate security. "The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the US," he said.

The security battle is not the only issue Harry's case involves. In January 2024, his lawsuit against a British tabloid will go to court. The duke has accused the Daily Mail's publisher, Associated Newspapers, of illegal practices, including phone hacking. (The publisher has denied the claims.) Prince Harry is expected to attend the court proceedings but won't have an opportunity to meet with his father, King Charles III, as the sovereign will be in Scotland at the time.

It's worth noting that Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, have been living in the US since 2020. The decision on whether they will join Harry for a trip to the UK depends on the conclusion of his security battle.

A friend of Prince Harry's told the Sunday Times, "We hope common sense prevails. Whether you like Harry or not, he's the son of the King, brother to the heir and will one day be brother to the King." The statement highlights the complexities surrounding Harry's security concerns.

As the court proceedings unfold, it remains to be seen whether Meghan Markle will make a return trip to England. If she does, it would mark a significant moment in her relationship with the UK and its royal family.
