PRAGMATA Delivers Deeper Look into Hacking Gameplay
Capcom has dropped some juicy new information and screenshots for PRAGMATA, shedding light on the game's hacking mechanics that promise to add a fresh layer of strategy to the already intense gameplay experience.
In this sci-fi thriller, protagonists Hugh and Diana find themselves trapped in a lunar research station with no clear way out. As they navigate through the treacherous terrain, they'll be facing off against an array of formidable foes, each with its own unique abilities and strengths. Among these enemies is the Walkers, humanoid bots based on the M4 series designed by Delphi Corporation for support roles. Their ability to use tools and work alongside humans made them a popular choice among players.
The Walkers' improved M4AM design allows them to thrive in low-gravity environments, making them a force to be reckoned with in the lunar research station's vacuum-like conditions. But that's not all - another powerful enemy waiting in the wings is the SectorGuard, a behemoth of a bot developed by Delphi's military manufacturing division for high-priority installations.
The SectorGuard is a menacing foe, armed with guided weaponry and low-gravity ballistics on its spherical modules. To take it down, players will need to rely on Hugh's thrusters to dodge its attacks while Diana uses her hacking abilities to breach its defenses. This is where things get really interesting - as the gauge for Overdrive Protocol fills up, Diana gains access to a powerful new attack that can simultaneously hack multiple enemies, temporarily halting their movement and leaving them vulnerable to attack.
But be warned: this attack is not to be used recklessly. It requires careful timing and planning to execute effectively. To enhance her hacking abilities, players will need to scavenge for Hack Nodes scattered throughout the environment. These consumable nodes can be activated in the Hacking Matrix to lower enemies' defenses, providing a temporary window of opportunity to strike.
One such node is the Decode Node, which lowers enemies' defenses for a limited time. This adds a whole new layer of complexity to PRAGMATA's combat system, forcing players to make strategic decisions in the heat of battle. With its unique blend of action and strategy, PRAGMATA promises to deliver an immersive gaming experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
PRAGMATA is set to release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam in 2026. For now, fans can get a glimpse of the game's hacking mechanics by checking out the screenshots gallery.
