This Company Is Automating Cybersecurity For Startups

In this episode of Forbes Talks, we had the opportunity to sit down with Fabiola Munguia, CEO and Cofounder of Secfix, a company that's revolutionizing cybersecurity for startups through automation. Our conversation shed light on Munguia's background, her entrepreneurial journey, and how she's leveraging AI to enhance security measures.

Fabiola Munguia's journey into the world of cybersecurity began with a keen interest in technology from an early age. Growing up, she was inspired by her parents' entrepreneurial spirit and witnessed firsthand the rapidly evolving landscape of cybersecurity trends at university. This exposure sparked a passion for learning more about the ever-changing threats and vulnerabilities that startups face.

Initially, Munguia started offering ethical hacking services to clients, but it wasn't long before she realized there was a growing demand for her expertise in a different area. As clients began to request assistance with achieving ISO 27,001 certification – a gold standard for information security management systems – Munguia pivoted and built Secfix around this need.

"We saw an opportunity to help European startups navigate the complex process of obtaining compliance certifications," Munguia explained. "Our company aimed to streamline the journey and provide them with the necessary tools to meet these high standards." And it's exactly this focus on streamlining cybersecurity that has allowed Secfix to secure $4.2 million in funding, further solidifying its position as a leader in this space.

In an era where automation is increasingly becoming more prevalent across various industries, Munguia sees AI playing a pivotal role in enhancing security workflows and even assisting in the collection of evidence for compliance purposes. This forward-thinking approach positions Secfix at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation.

"AI will be instrumental in automating many aspects of our business," Munguia predicted. "From data analysis to threat detection, AI-powered tools will enable us to focus on more strategic initiatives that drive growth and security." By embracing this technological shift, Munguia believes Secfix can help startups better protect themselves against the ever-evolving threats in the cybersecurity landscape.

Today, Secfix serves a diverse client base of European startups in information technology. This focus allows Munguia to tailor her services to meet the unique needs of each business, providing personalized support and guidance throughout their journey towards compliance certification. As she looks ahead, Munguia remains committed to harnessing the power of AI to drive innovation and growth within the company.
