Mind Readings: Never Think Alone, AI as a Thought Partner, Part 2

Welcome back to our series on "Never Think Alone" where we explore the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence and its applications in marketing and beyond. In our previous episodes, we introduced you to the Trust Insights RACE Framework for AI Prompting and the REPEL Framework. These frameworks provide a structured approach to crafting effective prompts that elicit meaningful responses from your AI tools. Today, we're focusing on priming, which is an essential step in unlocking the full potential of AI collaboration.

Priming is all about bringing a lot of knowledge to the table, so you don't start from scratch every time you work with AI. When people use AI poorly – when they use it in a very naive fashion – they don't bring enough information or knowledge to the party. As a result, they get back pretty bland results. But what if you could prime your conversations with deep research and expert-level insights?

Priming with Deep Research

One of the key tools for priming is access to deep research. All the AI tools out there – Perplexity, Gemini, OpenAI – allow you to tap into this wealth of knowledge. You can use that information to prime your conversations.

Let's take a look at Google's Gemini as an example. (Adjusts screen.) I've done some deep research on best practices for building N8N workflows. This is the kind of information I'd like to start our conversation with.

I'll copy-paste this into Gemini and ask: "Let's take this document as our starting point." If I export it as a PDF and drop it into AI Studio – or just copy-paste – I can get expert-level insights by asking more targeted questions. For example:

  • “Give me some ideas for how I could use N8N for my agency’s workflows.”
  • “What are the most effective ways to integrate AI with existing marketing processes?”

By bringing this deep research into the conversation, we're transforming our AI tool from a bland response generator to an expert-level thought partner. This is just the beginning – let's take it further!
