Andrew started his career with the Glendale Fire Department in April 2008 as a paramedic and eventually became a firefighter. Last January, he teamed up with a friend to launch a GoFundMe campaign to support Los Angeles' recovery after the devastating wildfires. The campaign raised $3,510 of its $4,000 goal.

On Wednesday morning, Andrew walked into the LAPD's Northeast Community Police Station and asked officers to perform a welfare check on his wife.
